It Doesn't Have To Take Forever To Rank in Search Engines- Local Impact

Updated: 02/27/2020

How do I rank my website on search engines faster?

I hear it all the time… “Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a long-term plan, and I don’t have time to wait!” Even in the marketing world, agencies still believe that you have to wait six months or over a year to see results. That was certainly the way it was a few years ago. Back then, we used the phrase, “content is king” to describe the high value of creating blogs, articles, and text on a website to get Google’s attention.

But Google made 3,200 search changes last year alone. The goal of Google in making massive adjustments is NOT to delay your website rankings for months or years before reaching the search engines top-ranking positions.

Quite the opposite, Google is trying to show us how to make sure our websites reach the right people at the right time. It really doesn’t matter if your website is six months old or six years old. The playing field is much more level.

The Important Changes You Need Know

Once upon a time, if you wanted to rank well, you would have to create massive amounts of long-form content (blogs, web pages, articles, etc.) and build internal and external links to that content.

Or, if you had a domain name that was a certain age or history, you would have the advantage of “first to market” in your industry.

Google has made it very clear, an old or well-aged domain vs. a brand new domain will NOT compromise your  rankings.

Before I get the hate mail, I know these things still play a part and that they still matter in the overall picture of SEO, but there are options today. There are fast-lane opportunities that we haven’t had before to rank very high in spite of these shortcomings that were more impactful in the past.

Google has over 200 ranking factors for us to consider. In other words, we have opportunities beyond what we had in the past to produce some quick ranking results!

SEO1 is no longer just about Google. Now we have numerous opportunities to rank on multiple search engines. A great example is YouTube (owned by Google and currently the #2 most popular search engine) can give you search results in as little as 48 hours.

The strategy for ranking on YouTube is different than a traditional search engine. Your video can rank super high in the first 48 hours of release, but over time more viewers see it and its rankings will increase.

Simply stated, you have the opportunity to snag a top-ranking position on YouTube in just a few days despite how competitive the keyword or search term might be.

This Should Be Easy! Nope.

Look, SEO is hard. It continues to frustrate and challenge all of us. I am not saying you have the easy task to rank for “personal injury lawyer” on Google in the next 48 hours. I am not promising some unrealistic results. However, you CAN majorly increase your search traffic to your website in a much more reasonable amount of time if you follow the rules and understand the basics.

So… how do you rank your website faster? Is there a secret?

Not really.

Work hard at it, educate yourself, and learn all you can. Your business depends on it. If your customers can’t find you in search results, local directories, and social media, your business is virtually irrelevant.

Do what you have to do to put your business in front of the audience that needs your product or service… and do it as soon as possible. Get started today!
